Narrative:

Approaching ewr airport on an ATC vector to join final for runway 22L, tower reported birds in the vicinity of final approach fix. We were cleared to intercept the runway 22L ILS at 3000 ft for a normal landing. At approximately XX37Z and 1900 ft on GS and localizer, with windshield heat on, outside temperature 39 degrees F, clear sky, speed 160 KTS, we heard a bang noise. On post landing inspection we noticed a dent on the leading edge horizontal stabilizer, entered the strike in the maintenance logbook and notified operations.
