Narrative:

Takeoff from mth airport runway 7, XA35 am, mar/xx/96, flight #YYYY. Scheduled commuter flight mth to fll, day VFR, 2 crew with 17 passenger. Right engine lost thrust at 300-400 ft and appeared to autofeather. Climbed to 1500 ft. Engine fire or fail checklist was completed. Returned to airport with fire department ready. Safe landing, single engine, no injury or damage. Note: at 300- 400 ft right engine thrust loss, engine instruments indicated normal takeoff setting except propeller RPM indicated a feathered propeller. At 1500 ft engine fire or fail checklist completed. (This checklist fully shut engine down.) when engine shut down, propeller appeared to feather further or more completely, single engine performance increased.
