Narrative:

At 7000 ft ATC gave a crossing altitude of 5000 ft at fruti intersection tyr 309 degree radial 29 DME. The aircraft was on the dfw 090 degree radial to intercept the tyr localizer. The wrong DME distance 13.6 was determined by looking at the approach phase for the tyr ILS runway 13 when the en route chart should have been used to determine the fix for fruti intersection which was 29 DME off the tyr VOR. ATC informed that the aircraft was past fruti and we were not at 5000 ft. Closer attention should have been made to use the en route chart to determine the fix instead of relying on the approach chart.
