Narrative:

Altitude alert was misset to 8000 ft. ATC clearance was 11000(?). Stopped descent at 9500 ft. Was asked what altitude was by ATC. I said 9500 ft descending to 8000 ft. The controller said our clearance was to 11000 ft and to climb back to 11000 ft. There was no conflict.

Narrative: ALT ALERT WAS MISSET TO 8000 FT. ATC CLRNC WAS 11000(?). STOPPED DSCNT AT 9500 FT. WAS ASKED WHAT ALT WAS BY ATC. I SAID 9500 FT DSNDING TO 8000 FT. THE CTLR SAID OUR CLRNC WAS TO 11000 FT AND TO CLB BACK TO 11000 FT. THERE WAS NO CONFLICT.
