Narrative:

After checking chart for restr airspace, I departed a tower controled airport, wjf. I stated to tower 'for east departure.' I had failed to notice that pmd AFB was in my flight path and was too close to attain the legal clearance altitude. When I saw the airport, it was too late to turn around and I proceeded on course. This airspace incursion could have been avoided with closer attention to the chart. A suggestion or reminder from the tower of the departure airport would also have been helpful.
