Narrative:

On sep/bb/95 I was flying through the pittsburg class B airspace when a situation arose that I thought should be brought to NASA. My flight originated from trenton, mercer county airport in nj. I was cleared into the class B airspace at about XA30 local. After about an hour, at XB30 local time I was southwest of pittsburg when I asked to terminate my VFR flight following to land at wheeling county airport in ohio. I was told to squawk VFR and contact wheeling tower. When I landed at wheeling, the tower informed me that pit approach said I wasn't cleared and was in their airspace. I concluded that the ZID controller did not notify approach of my intentions to land at wheeling.

AFTER ABOUT AN HR, AT XB30 LCL TIME I WAS SW OF PITTSBURG WHEN I ASKED TO TERMINATE MY VFR FLT FOLLOWING TO LAND AT WHEELING COUNTY ARPT IN OHIO. I WAS TOLD TO SQUAWK VFR AND CONTACT WHEELING TWR. WHEN I LANDED AT WHEELING, THE TWR INFORMED ME THAT PIT APCH SAID I WASN'T CLRED AND WAS IN THEIR AIRSPACE. I CONCLUDED THAT THE ZID CTLR DID NOT NOTIFY APCH OF MY INTENTIONS TO LAND AT WHEELING.
