Narrative:
I was learning to use my new GPS. I had taken off mins earlier from hardford county airport (0w3). I attempted to call baltimore approach on 119.0 and when my call was not acknowledged I attempted to skirt the R4001A and R4001B restr airspace. In doing so I flew into martin state's airspace. I referenced my position when I saw military aircraft flying approximately 1 mi from me. It is very important that when I fly using this new technology that I xref my position with a chart in order to prevent a recurrence.

Title: ERRONEOUS PENETRATION OF AIRSPACE.
Narrative: I WAS LEARNING TO USE MY NEW GPS. I HAD TAKEN OFF MINS EARLIER FROM HARDFORD COUNTY ARPT (0W3). I ATTEMPTED TO CALL BALTIMORE APCH ON 119.0 AND WHEN MY CALL WAS NOT ACKNOWLEDGED I ATTEMPTED TO SKIRT THE R4001A AND R4001B RESTR AIRSPACE. IN DOING SO I FLEW INTO MARTIN STATE'S AIRSPACE. I REFED MY POS WHEN I SAW MIL ACFT FLYING APPROX 1 MI FROM ME. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT WHEN I FLY USING THIS NEW TECHNOLOGY THAT I XREF MY POS WITH A CHART IN ORDER TO PREVENT A RECURRENCE.
