Narrative:

Leaving dfw on departure vector was assigned 17000 ft. Passing 15000 ft we were asked to expedite through 16000 ft. After rate of climb was increased, we got a climb RA and increased our climb to comply with the RA. RA ceased passing or approaching 17000 ft. We were unable to capture 17000 ft and went 300-400 ft above our altitude of 17000 ft. Additionally, specifics of the traffic were not given to us. We were just told to expedite and not given the altitude or the position of the traffic.
