Narrative:

Flight X, a B727-2 from dtw-las operated normally until landing rollout on runway 25L at A6 taxiway. The right main gear collapsed at approximately 70 KTS. An emergency was declared and crash fire rescue equipment. Air carrier maintenance inspected the airplane to ensure there was no immediate danger. The nose gear was chocked. All passenger well evacuate/evacuationed through door 1L down truck stairs and then buses to terminal. The airplane was stopped approximately 15 ft to the right of the centerline on runway 25L at highspd A6. No injuries. Callback conversation with reporter acn #309400 revealed the following information: reporter stated that the aircraft was not yet turning for the high speed turn off, A-6. They had been planning on using it, however. The gear did not completely collapse, which saved the wing and flaps from any damages. The flaps were still 'down' and had not been retracted by the crew. First officer did not add much else to the initial information. He said that he did not receive any feed back from the air carrier regarding why the right main gear had failed. The conditions for an 'on site inspection' were not conducive for the crewmembers.
