Narrative:

On departure from runway 1 at msy at 1000 ft AGL, hydraulic B system failed. Complied with communication 2-29-2, 2-29-10, and 2-32-7. Declared emergency with ATC. Notified dispatch, maintenance control, and B727 fleet captain at XA45Z. Decision to land at mem based on poor WX in msy area at time of departure. Landing gear (all 3) pinned and aircraft towed to gate upon arrival in mem. Maintenance determined B system pump had failed in-flight.
