Narrative:

Captain: PNF on the flight, noticed first officer climbing through assigned altitude of 16000 ft. Told first officer to level off and helped initiate descent down from 16500 ft to 16000 ft pushing forward on control column. There was some radio chatter, as well as WX in the climb that distracted the crew during climb. Supplemental information from acn 309456: I was paying more attention to avoiding the clouds during climb than to altitude.
