Narrative:

In VFR conditions, on aqn arrival to dfw from the southwest, I (first officer) was flying and given a vector off the arrival and told to expect runway 36L. At approximately 20 mi we were given a descent to 5000 ft. At about 15 mi we were given a descent to 3000 ft, a vector, traffic, then cleared for the visual to runway 36L, and told to contact the tower. At about 5.5 mi on final on GS for runway 36L, the tower told us we were lined up for the wrong runway, and that we were to land on runway 35L. I (with captain's approval) then sidestepped to runway 35L and landed without incident. Neither the captain, myself, nor the jumpseater (another pilot) heard any runway clearance given except runway 36L, throughout the arrival. Supplemental information from acn 305100: on act arrival approximately 20 mi from airport, first controller said expect runway 36L. Handoff to 132.1 controller said visual runway 36L. Handed off to tower, was informed we were lined up on wrong runway and cleared to land runway 35L. Landed without incident. Contacted approach once on ground. No action required.
