Narrative:

Aircraft departed 34J VFR to pick up IFR flight plan in the air. Clearance was a little different than as filed. This took some time to resolve. Flight was cleared to maintain 11000 ft. PNF selected 11000 ft in altitude selector and waited for PF to confirm. PF confirmed the altitude and stated the autoplt was selected to level at 11000 ft. PNF could not see the autoplt control panel on the PF's side due to sun glare. Controller gave heading to join an ormond 2 departure. PNF asked PF if he should confirm clearance. Since ormond 2 departure was not on clearance. PF asked PNF to get out departure for another airport. This confused PNF. A brief discussion about departure plates for other airport ensued. PNF then turned to get the inappropriate departure plate. PNF was also trying to set up radios for correct course. The PF, while on autoplt, began to program the INS with waypoints. The PNF turned to monitor instruments and noted altitude through 11200 ft. PNF called 'altitude, level at 11000 ft.' PF appeared to be not monitoring aircraft and finally level at climb and descended back to 11000 ft. Maximum altitude was 11400 ft. Daytona approach called when aircraft was leveling at 11000 ft and said we appeared to have been at 11500 ft. PNF called level at 11000 ft. Daytona did not seem to want to discuss matter further, there was no traffic on TCASII. This particular PF has a tendency to not pay attention to what he is doing. Some days he is combative as well which makes for an uncomfortable cockpit. Serious studies would be interesting on this individual.

Narrative: ACFT DEPARTED 34J VFR TO PICK UP IFR FLT PLAN IN THE AIR. CLRNC WAS A LITTLE DIFFERENT THAN AS FILED. THIS TOOK SOME TIME TO RESOLVE. FLT WAS CLRED TO MAINTAIN 11000 FT. PNF SELECTED 11000 FT IN ALT SELECTOR AND WAITED FOR PF TO CONFIRM. PF CONFIRMED THE ALT AND STATED THE AUTOPLT WAS SELECTED TO LEVEL AT 11000 FT. PNF COULD NOT SEE THE AUTOPLT CTL PANEL ON THE PF'S SIDE DUE TO SUN GLARE. CTLR GAVE HDG TO JOIN AN ORMOND 2 DEP. PNF ASKED PF IF HE SHOULD CONFIRM CLRNC. SINCE ORMOND 2 DEP WAS NOT ON CLRNC. PF ASKED PNF TO GET OUT DEP FOR ANOTHER ARPT. THIS CONFUSED PNF. A BRIEF DISCUSSION ABOUT DEP PLATES FOR OTHER ARPT ENSUED. PNF THEN TURNED TO GET THE INAPPROPRIATE DEP PLATE. DAYTONA DID NOT SEEM TO WANT TO DISCUSS MATTER FURTHER, THERE WAS NO TFC ON TCASII. THIS PARTICULAR PF HAS A TENDENCY TO NOT PAY ATTN TO WHAT HE IS DOING. SOME DAYS HE IS COMBATIVE AS WELL WHICH MAKES FOR AN UNCOMFORTABLE COCKPIT. SERIOUS STUDIES WOULD BE INTERESTING ON THIS INDIVIDUAL.
