Narrative:

I was copilot on a flight from airport a to airport B and return to hospital C in downtown D. We did not talk to approach or tower at airport east, as it was not required because we were not in their airspace. What we did not know was that hospital C was in a temporary restr area because the president was speaking in D that day. If we had used tower or approach, we would have been informed and in the future I plan to do so. Supplemental information from acn 303136: I had a new copilot and was busy showing him different aspects of this route and hospital and decided that using tower would make things more complicated.
