Narrative:

On departure from sdf we were given a standard left turnout to 090 degrees to intercept V4, climb to 10000 ft. We were told to contact ZID. ZID gave us a climb to 11000 ft which never happens on most mornings. The altitude given is usually FL230. We were in a high speed climb mode and the aircraft was extremely light. It was a combination of habit pattern, high speed/light aircraft extremely quick climb from 10000-11000 ft, and the autoplt not being able to handle it. We received a flashing 'east' on ADI indicating the elevator was out of trim. I punched off the autoplt out of 10000 ft climbing to 11000 ft. We wound up climbing to 12000 ft before we were able to get back down to 11000 ft. There was no conflict reported by ATC. I noticed the deviation at 11300 ft but we were climbing so fast I was at 12000 ft before being able to reverse altitude.
