Narrative:
Approximately 45 mi southwest of ord, ord center cleared us to 11000 ft. In descent, clearance was revised to slow to 210 KTS and level at 12000 ft. Altitude alert was never reset to 12000 ft. Passing through 11700 ft, center advised us we were cleared to 12000 ft. 12000 ft was promptly returned to.
