Narrative:

Both of us believed that the initial altitude for the sawgy 1 departure was 5000 ft. We even briefed it as such. It is actually 3000 ft. Neither of us referred to the plate prior to departure. There is no valid excuse for my complacency. The obvious solution is to pull and refer to the proper procedures and never trust the memory.

Narrative: BOTH OF US BELIEVED THAT THE INITIAL ALT FOR THE SAWGY 1 DEP WAS 5000 FT. WE EVEN BRIEFED IT AS SUCH. IT IS ACTUALLY 3000 FT. NEITHER OF US REFERRED TO THE PLATE PRIOR TO DEP. THERE IS NO VALID EXCUSE FOR MY COMPLACENCY. THE OBVIOUS SOLUTION IS TO PULL AND REFER TO THE PROPER PROCS AND NEVER TRUST THE MEMORY.
