Narrative:

Shortly before XA00, the pntlo sector was closed (combined with brllo) hncsh was opened at the D-27 position. At approximately XA30 the traffic in the brl/pnt sector exceeded a safe level, and the controller(south) requested that pntlo be reopened. Although this could have been done (close hnc, reopen it at A-58, open pnt at D-27) the supervisor (correctly) chose not to. The trouble and confusion would have been worse than the situation, as it stood. This is another example of the dangerous situation that exists when 2 sectors are assigned 1 physical location.

Narrative: SHORTLY BEFORE XA00, THE PNTLO SECTOR WAS CLOSED (COMBINED WITH BRLLO) HNCSH WAS OPENED AT THE D-27 POS. AT APPROX XA30 THE TFC IN THE BRL/PNT SECTOR EXCEEDED A SAFE LEVEL, AND THE CTLR(S) REQUESTED THAT PNTLO BE REOPENED. ALTHOUGH THIS COULD HAVE BEEN DONE (CLOSE HNC, REOPEN IT AT A-58, OPEN PNT AT D-27) THE SUPVR (CORRECTLY) CHOSE NOT TO. THE TROUBLE AND CONFUSION WOULD HAVE BEEN WORSE THAN THE SIT, AS IT STOOD.
