Narrative:

While approaching fayetteville, ar, drake field, in IFR conditions, I expected to execute the localizer runway 16 approach, and set up the localizer frequency in the #1 navigation receiver. Razorback approach instead cleared me to drake VOR, so I changed channels and was expecting the VOR-a approach. Fayetteville WX was reported 1700 ft overcast. Approach must have received word that the ceiling was lowering because he immediately cleared me to elmie intersection for the localizer approach. I forgot to switch back to the localizer frequency and executed the approach using drake VOR. As the approach continued, I figured out what was wrong and was pulling up to execute the missed approach, ready to call when tower called to say approach had called to say I was off course, I contacted them, went back to elmie and made an uneventful landing using the correct frequency.

Narrative: WHILE APCHING FAYETTEVILLE, AR, DRAKE FIELD, IN IFR CONDITIONS, I EXPECTED TO EXECUTE THE LOC RWY 16 APCH, AND SET UP THE LOC FREQ IN THE #1 NAV RECEIVER. RAZORBACK APCH INSTEAD CLRED ME TO DRAKE VOR, SO I CHANGED CHANNELS AND WAS EXPECTING THE VOR-A APCH. FAYETTEVILLE WX WAS RPTED 1700 FT OVCST. APCH MUST HAVE RECEIVED WORD THAT THE CEILING WAS LOWERING BECAUSE HE IMMEDIATELY CLRED ME TO ELMIE INTXN FOR THE LOC APCH. I FORGOT TO SWITCH BACK TO THE LOC FREQ AND EXECUTED THE APCH USING DRAKE VOR. AS THE APCH CONTINUED, I FIGURED OUT WHAT WAS WRONG AND WAS PULLING UP TO EXECUTE THE MISSED APCH, READY TO CALL WHEN TWR CALLED TO SAY APCH HAD CALLED TO SAY I WAS OFF COURSE, I CONTACTED THEM, WENT BACK TO ELMIE AND MADE AN UNEVENTFUL LNDG USING THE CORRECT FREQ.
