Narrative:
Taking off out of sjc on runway 30L I flew runway heading. At 4 DME I asked departure if they wanted me to remain on runway heading. Departure control said I should have turned to heading 120 degrees. The turn was then made and completed within 6 DME of sjc. I was then vectored and given altitude changes for the departure. The problem was: I was cleared to fly the loupe 9 departure and I thought I was given runway heading. Some contributing factors: there was a last min runway change and departure change. We had a controled takeoff time and we were rushing to make it. There was a plane on final getting ready to land so we were cleared for immediate takeoff. I mistakenly thought I was cleared runway heading. Runway heading looked good on the departure plate for our linden transition. I should have slowed down the operation and questioned the departure procedure - everything was happening too fast.

Narrative: TAKING OFF OUT OF SJC ON RWY 30L I FLEW RWY HDG. AT 4 DME I ASKED DEP IF THEY WANTED ME TO REMAIN ON RWY HDG. DEP CTL SAID I SHOULD HAVE TURNED TO HDG 120 DEGS. THE TURN WAS THEN MADE AND COMPLETED WITHIN 6 DME OF SJC. I WAS THEN VECTORED AND GIVEN ALT CHANGES FOR THE DEP. THE PROB WAS: I WAS CLRED TO FLY THE LOUPE 9 DEP AND I THOUGHT I WAS GIVEN RWY HDG. SOME CONTRIBUTING FACTORS: THERE WAS A LAST MIN RWY CHANGE AND DEP CHANGE. WE HAD A CTLED TKOF TIME AND WE WERE RUSHING TO MAKE IT. THERE WAS A PLANE ON FINAL GETTING READY TO LAND SO WE WERE CLRED FOR IMMEDIATE TKOF. I MISTAKENLY THOUGHT I WAS CLRED RWY HDG. RWY HDG LOOKED GOOD ON THE DEP PLATE FOR OUR LINDEN TRANSITION. I SHOULD HAVE SLOWED DOWN THE OP AND QUESTIONED THE DEP PROCEDURE - EVERYTHING WAS HAPPENING TOO FAST.
