Narrative:
On boids 4 arrival approaching pivot aircraft exited VNAV mode, pilots were briefing the approach. Noticed aircraft did not slow and was no longer in VNAV mode. Immediately initiated a manual speed reduction and crossed arena at 250 KTS.

Title: SPD DEV DURING STAR ARR PROC.
Narrative: ON BOIDS 4 ARR APCHING PIVOT ACFT EXITED VNAV MODE, PLTS WERE BRIEFING THE APCH. NOTICED ACFT DID NOT SLOW AND WAS NO LONGER IN VNAV MODE. IMMEDIATELY INITIATED A MANUAL SPD REDUCTION AND CROSSED ARENA AT 250 KTS.
