Narrative:

The reporter stated that he has been alternately qualified in at least 3 flight crew position at the same time (B727 so: B757 first officer and A320 first officer) and is currently checking out in the DC9 first officer position. He believes that the company's policy to have pilots checked in more than 2 aircraft should not be allowed by the company, union or FAA. He believes that this procedure is unsafe since the wrong action can be taken when operating that many types of aircraft. He further stated that he may furnish examples at a later date of how the cross knowledge caused a problem.
