Handing over controller to copilot -- not scanning instruments, copilot later stated he saw altitude deviation but did not say anything. Copilot is the attorney for the company, also a CFI, very nervous type. Should not have let him up front to start with. Started bugging me to relinquish control when passing through 500 ft. From now on passenger stay passenger.
