Narrative:

We were on the jasen 1 arrival to iad at 19000 ft. We were given crossing doccs intersection at 9000 ft. At this time we were about 37 mi from doccs. Started doing the descent checklist. My copilot was flying. We crossed doccs intersection just at 9000 ft and being or having been busy to make the crossing restr, missed the turn on the linden 026 degree radial as the STAR called for. About 34 mi from aml VOR or about 7 mi past doccs intersection, approach called us to confirm if we were on jasen 1 or direct aml. Then he gave us heading for spacing to iad. Most of the time, we don't have to go on linden 026 degree radial, as a commuter pilot, we do this STAR many times a week and by getting used to get direct aml, we thought we were.
