Narrative:

On feb/xx/95 at approximately pm local, destination: pbi during final preparations for departure from the gate 1 of our flight attendants came into the cockpit distressed. She informed us that a drunken passenger who had boarded the plane was now sitting near another airline's captain, and the other airline's captain had informed her that the drunken passenger would have to be removed from the aircraft. Our captain is a very domineering, insecure, power hungry pilot who lacks any type of crew resource management and took this statement as a threat to his position as a captain. Rather than personally intervene into the problem he instructed the flight attendant to tell the other airline's captain 'that the drunk is going on the plane. He can either stay or go!' prior to this statement the condition of the drunk was determined to be stable. He was not causing problems or rowdy, however, there were indications that he may have been intoxicated. This was noticed by the gate agents, the flight attendants and the other airline's captain. The flight attendant left the cockpit to execute the captain's actions. The other airline's captain was wearing 'regular' non-uniform attire informs the captain that he has a drunk on board and that he (the other airline's captain) would not stay on an aircraft that flew with such an individual. The other airline's captain also explained that he was a full paying passenger. Our captain never once making eye contact, looking out the front windows, and staying seated the entire time adamantly told the other airline's captain 'the drunk is staying on board with or without you.' the other airline's captain 'I am not getting on board an aircraft with a drunk.' our captain with thumb pointing to cabin door 'then get off my aircraft.' the other airline's captain then asked for our captain's name, which he gave. The other airline's captain then explained that he would be writing the FAA regarding this matter, to which our captain replied 'write all you want just get off my aircraft.' the other airline's captain then walked off the aircraft. Our captain then proceeded to explain to me his position, which was that he was not some little commuter captain who was going to be pushed around by another airline's captain/passenger who wanted to play captain from the cabin. Our captain made it clear that any threat to his authority/authorized would be quickly and harshly dealt with as made clear in this incident.
