Narrative:

When flaps were selected from 15 to 5 degrees, aircraft yawed. While maintaining aircraft control, trimming and referencing the flap indicator it was determined that a split flap situation had occurred. ATC notified, priority was given. Crew referenced emergency procedures an uneventful landing was made. Cockpit resource management really works.

Title: RETURN LAND MANDATED BY A SPLIT FLAP ACFT EQUIP PROB MALFUNCTION.

Narrative: WHEN FLAPS WERE SELECTED FROM 15 TO 5 DEGS, ACFT YAWED. WHILE MAINTAINING ACFT CTL, TRIMMING AND REFING THE FLAP INDICATOR IT WAS DETERMINED THAT A SPLIT FLAP SIT HAD OCCURRED.
