Narrative:

I was requested to taxi aircraft to hangar at dfw. Start-up and taxi to the hangar ramp was normal. However, upon reaching the hanger ramp, I stopped the aircraft in the throat to look for taxi directors. None were forthcoming as usual. The crew van was waiting on us so I made an attempt to park the aircraft. After checking to make sure the ramp was clear and that there were no moving vehicles, I made a hard left turn followed by a hard right. 90 degrees through the right turn I felt a thump. I stopped the aircraft, shut down the engines. Investigation revealed about 1 1/2 - 2 ft of the tail cone was broken off. Maintenance was notified and appropriate phone calls made.
