Narrative:

Ppg-sydney leg (landing at sydney airport) between 1000 ft and 500 ft captain called out 1000 ft rate of descent. First officer landing. Flight engineer called out 100 ft, 50 ft, 30 ft, 20 ft, 10 ft. First officer did not stop rate of descent. Very firm landing. Did not put reversers until 100 KTS and only upon prodding from flight engineer. Automatic brake set at minimum. Automatic brake light did not come on. Put to off by captain prior to leaving runway. While taxiing in, informed by tower that smoke coming from right body gear. Stopped at taxiway. Firemen called. Tried to see out of r- hand exit door. Unable to see anything. Shut down #2 and #3 engine so firemen could approach wheel. Went down through east&east compartment and dropped ladder. Saw firemen approach each tire assembly from rear of aircraft. Saw right rear tire of right body gear blown. Smoke stopped at this time. Went back to cockpit and were given clearance to taxi. Told captain we should make entry in logbook to do heavy landing inspection. Was told by captain not to do so. Forgot to finish log and captain did it for me. Postflt found #12 tire blown. #4 canoe damage and inboard flaps damaged (left side). Rod embedded in #3 canoe. 2 rods damaged.

WAS TOLD BY CAPT NOT TO DO SO. FORGOT TO FINISH LOG AND CAPT DID IT FOR ME. POSTFLT FOUND #12 TIRE BLOWN. #4 CANOE DAMAGE AND INBOARD FLAPS DAMAGED (L SIDE). ROD EMBEDDED IN #3 CANOE. 2 RODS DAMAGED.
