Narrative:

A departure clearance was issued to fly the oasis 7 SID. I removed the SID from my nos approach plate book and turned it over to read the narrative on the reverse side. After takeoff and while in communication with departure, I was advised that I was on an incorrect heading. The problem is that the mead 8 narrative is on the backside of the oasis 7 departure. My inability to recognize this was further aggravated because the binding ring holes in the plate remove part of the title of the SID. I recommend the following changes: place the pictorial and narrative on the same sheet to avoid this type of confusion and reduce cockpit clutter. Place the binding ring holes so as not to destroy any of the plate title.
