Narrative:

On outer, cleared to cross runway 22 (active landing runway) at foxtrot to join bb. Aircraft ended up on southwest side of foxtrot outside of unlit blue taxiway lights. The captain stopped the aircraft and, after discussing with me, he requested a 180 degree to rejoin foxtrot. Ground permitted us to do so. Captain woke up at 0400 and on duty since 0600. First officer woke up at 0600 on duty at 0800. 5 mins prior, discussed how tired we were. Light rain, construction to foxtrot. No perimeter taxiway lights, no centerline lights. No painted taxiway centerline. Forward of aircraft bright road lights obstructing vision. Captain stopped aircraft and crew discussed options and obstacles. Requested permission from ground. Then we taxied aircraft. Airport should close txwys that are not distinguishable. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter states the ramp lights ahead of them were a great part of the problem. There are 4 large lights which blind a flight crew as they taxi in that direction. Also the yellow line ended and flight crew thought it would pick up again after they crossed the runway and it did not. The taxiway there takes a bend but there is no line to indicate it does so. That is when flight crew taxied straight ahead and had the mixup. Reporter stated there seems to be a constant state of construction going on and lights and markings are just non existent. The night aspect only aggravated the situation.
