Narrative:
En route descent clearance from 25000-11000 ft, expect kubic at 6000 ft. Clearance was to fortl. Mistakenly set the rsw 122 degree radial and the phk 175 degree radial instead of rsw/122 and lbv/175. Was descending through 15000 ft when cleared to 6000 ft. Was almost abeam kubic when noticed the incorrect frequency. Center was talking 'rapid-fire' so unable to advise. A course correction was made to fortl which required a heading change of approximately 60 degrees. Rate of descent was adjusted to 4000 FPM and flrtl was crossed at 6600 ft. A few seconds later 6000 ft was reached. Center then called us and wanted to know the altitude and why the heading change. Back to basics -- 'tune and identify' would have prevented this.

Title: ALT XING RESTR NOT MET.
Narrative: ENRTE DSCNT CLRNC FROM 25000-11000 FT, EXPECT KUBIC AT 6000 FT. CLRNC WAS TO FORTL. MISTAKENLY SET THE RSW 122 DEG RADIAL AND THE PHK 175 DEG RADIAL INSTEAD OF RSW/122 AND LBV/175. WAS DSNDING THROUGH 15000 FT WHEN CLRED TO 6000 FT. WAS ALMOST ABEAM KUBIC WHEN NOTICED THE INCORRECT FREQ. CTR WAS TALKING 'RAPID-FIRE' SO UNABLE TO ADVISE. A COURSE CORRECTION WAS MADE TO FORTL WHICH REQUIRED A HDG CHANGE OF APPROX 60 DEGS. RATE OF DSCNT WAS ADJUSTED TO 4000 FPM AND FLRTL WAS CROSSED AT 6600 FT. A FEW SECONDS LATER 6000 FT WAS REACHED. CTR THEN CALLED US AND WANTED TO KNOW THE ALT AND WHY THE HDG CHANGE. BACK TO BASICS -- 'TUNE AND IDENT' WOULD HAVE PREVENTED THIS.
