Narrative:

Location: pullman/261/10. On flight from bos to ord doing the pullman 4 STAR into ord. I was cleared to cross claud intersection at 20000 ft. First officer misread the DME as 22 vice 10. Missed claud by approximately 8 mi. Supplemental information from acn 344130: misread DME as 22 versus 10 for claud. Did not level at FL200 until 17 DME (7 mi past claud). Captain was busy getting changeover and ATIS and did not realize mistake until aircraft was level at FL200 at 17 DME. Usual procedure is to discuss crossing point with both pilots agreeing. Failure to do so this time caused this violation.
