Narrative:
We were 30 NM from a red painted cell and going around a small green return in IMC when we were hit by hail between 5 and 10 seconds. No damage was noted until the walk around after landing. The green return must have been a hail shaft from the larger distant cell. I advise more distance from any green return in the vicinity of a larger cell.
