Narrative:
After pushback and departure salute which indicated all clear, I advanced power to normal taxi thrust. The guideman signaled 'stop' and yelled up we had just rocked a light aircraft's wings behind us. We were never advised that our engines would be aimed at any object or airplane. The field temperature was 101 degrees F and 7000 ft plus density altitude. We resumed taxi and flight departed. Corrective action: 1) ground crew 'dropped our aircraft' in a position that caused our blast to reach the light aircraft. 2) should have advised cockpit of light aircraft behind. 3) this light aircraft parking lot had no tie-downs. Obviously should have in a routine movement area for jets.
