Narrative:

On taxi-out from fll, I ran taxi and before takeoff checklists. We got down to the end of runway 9L and switched over to tower. The captain announced that we couldn't stop. He then activated the emergency brake and we came to an abrupt stop on the taxiway. We never got dangerously close, in my opinion, to the aircraft in front of us. The flight attendant was thrown into the open cockpit door. She said she felt ok to continue the flight even though her arm hurt. The captain and I activated our respective brake pedals about 5 times each. They worked every time. We decided to continue the flight to our home base.
