Narrative:
On apr/94 while the captain of flight from mia to ord in a glass equipped B-757, a possible airspace violation may have occurred. We were navigating on the knox arrival to ord when the controller asked, 'air carrier are you following the knox arrival?'. I looked up at the ADI and to my disbelief, we were somehow out of LNAV and into heading select mode. I quickly checked our position relative to course and found that we were less than 2 NM off course. So I don't think we violated any airspace, but can't say for sure. Went back to left navigation and on course. Controller made a comment that the MOA to our left was hot.
