Narrative:

It has been 19 months since ucr was filed by ZMA concerning the 'conflict alert' problem at orlando approach control. At the present time a cost analysis study is underway to determine if the patch (ncp) developed to control this problem should be installed with the next computer enhancement (at least approximately 6-8 months away) or installed with the isss system (yrs away). The instructions issued by the FAA to help control this problem are unsafe and have led to aircraft data blocks being dropped off other sectors. If the patch developed does work we need it now.
