Narrative:

While conducting after landing taxi operations in king air at quad city airport (mli), illinois, an ice berm or obstruction hidden by snow was struck with the right propeller. This resulted in enough damage to 2 blade tips to prevent further flight operations. An attempt was made to locate the exact place of contact, but the city's snow removal crews had accelerated the snow removal and any further evidence was gone. All operations were conducted with caution and on the designated landing and taxiway portions of the airport. It is suspected that previous snow removal efforts left some frozen ridges that were concealed by new snow. I believe the inadequate snow removal and ice removal by crews at the airport to be the cause of this incident.

Title: CHARTER KING AIR ON TAXI AFTER LNDG HAD PROP HIT ICE BERM ON TXWY.

Narrative: WHILE CONDUCTING AFTER LNDG TAXI OPS IN KING AIR AT QUAD CITY ARPT (MLI), ILLINOIS, AN ICE BERM OR OBSTRUCTION HIDDEN BY SNOW WAS STRUCK WITH THE R PROP. THIS RESULTED IN ENOUGH DAMAGE TO 2 BLADE TIPS TO PREVENT FURTHER FLT OPS. AN ATTEMPT WAS MADE TO LOCATE THE EXACT PLACE OF CONTACT, BUT THE CITY'S SNOW REMOVAL CREWS HAD ACCELERATED THE SNOW REMOVAL AND ANY FURTHER EVIDENCE WAS GONE. ALL OPS WERE CONDUCTED WITH CAUTION AND ON THE DESIGNATED LNDG AND TXWY PORTIONS OF THE ARPT. IT IS SUSPECTED THAT PREVIOUS SNOW REMOVAL EFFORTS LEFT SOME FROZEN RIDGES THAT WERE CONCEALED BY NEW SNOW. I BELIEVE THE INADEQUATE SNOW REMOVAL AND ICE REMOVAL BY CREWS AT THE ARPT TO BE THE CAUSE OF THIS INCIDENT.
