Narrative:
I was on a local flight out of sat international vectored to the southeast at 3500 ft and was checking my aircraft system. I was turned loose by sat departure and decided to go to san marcos and land. It was clear and 15 plus. I turned to a northerly heading, contacted aus approach, changed transponder code and idented. I told aus of my intentions, saw airport ahead, advised aus approach starting descent. Contacted san marcos advisory, reported entering l- hand traffic at 700 ft, cleared myself and shot a VFR approach following an air force MTR who made a touch-and-go. I followed with a touch-and-go then I realized it wasn't san marcos but seguin auxiliary. It was without incident as I saw only aircraft MTR ahead of me. I was disoriented, thought I was at other air field.
