Narrative:
On dec/xx/93 at lex ATCT, the radar west scope shut down due to a mechanical problem. There was no maintenance personnel on duty due to cutbacks. The maintenance control center was notified, but it would not be repaired till next day. We only have 3 scopes, so this is a 33 percent decrease in capability. Luckily, no traffic was affected, but I feel this situation is unsafe.
