Narrative:

I was cleared to land straight in. I was in an small aircraft. The winds were 250 at 21, I was landing runway 23. Since the winds were so strong, I decided to wait until I was closer to the airport before I would put the gear down. I used only 10 degrees of flaps and came in with power. I started my flare and floated down the runway. Due to the wind, I came in at a higher speed. I was just about to touch down and I realized my gear was still up. I immediately initiated a go around and came back around and landed. I looked at the propeller and realized that I was closer to the ground than what I thought. I bent the propeller a little and scratched it up pretty good. Luckily I delivered the airplane to columbus to get an overhaul. It now needs a propeller overhaul also. The airplane does have a warning device, but only when the power is pulled and/or the flaps are 20 degrees or more. I came in with power and only used 10 degrees flaps. I waited to put the gear down to save some time. Then when I was closer to the runway, I was concentrating so much on just getting the plane on the ground I forgot about the gear. The controller did warn me, but a little too late. He was busy landing other traffic on another runway.

Title: AN SMA PLT HIT THE RWY WITH HIS PROP.

Narrative: I WAS CLRED TO LAND STRAIGHT IN. I WAS IN AN SMA. THE WINDS WERE 250 AT 21, I WAS LNDG RWY 23. SINCE THE WINDS WERE SO STRONG, I DECIDED TO WAIT UNTIL I WAS CLOSER TO THE ARPT BEFORE I WOULD PUT THE GEAR DOWN. I USED ONLY 10 DEGS OF FLAPS AND CAME IN WITH PWR. I STARTED MY FLARE AND FLOATED DOWN THE RWY. DUE TO THE WIND, I CAME IN AT A HIGHER SPD. I WAS JUST ABOUT TO TOUCH DOWN AND I REALIZED MY GEAR WAS STILL UP. I IMMEDIATELY INITIATED A GAR AND CAME BACK AROUND AND LANDED. I LOOKED AT THE PROP AND REALIZED THAT I WAS CLOSER TO THE GND THAN WHAT I THOUGHT. I BENT THE PROP A LITTLE AND SCRATCHED IT UP PRETTY GOOD. LUCKILY I DELIVERED THE AIRPLANE TO COLUMBUS TO GET AN OVERHAUL. IT NOW NEEDS A PROP OVERHAUL ALSO. THE AIRPLANE DOES HAVE A WARNING DEVICE, BUT ONLY WHEN THE PWR IS PULLED AND/OR THE FLAPS ARE 20 DEGS OR MORE. I CAME IN WITH PWR AND ONLY USED 10 DEGS FLAPS. I WAITED TO PUT THE GEAR DOWN TO SAVE SOME TIME. THEN WHEN I WAS CLOSER TO THE RWY, I WAS CONCENTRATING SO MUCH ON JUST GETTING THE PLANE ON THE GND I FORGOT ABOUT THE GEAR. THE CTLR DID WARN ME, BUT A LITTLE TOO LATE. HE WAS BUSY LNDG OTHER TFC ON ANOTHER RWY.
