Narrative:

On arrival at pine belt regional airport, unicom was called and asked to alert passenger that aircraft was inbound frequency was 123.0. No traffic communications were heard. 122.8 was selected to advise local traffic. Other aircraft landing and departing from field were heard on this frequency (122.8). A local commuter plane was talked to for their position and intentions. The airport security officer was also heard on 122.8 talking to an aircraft on the ground. Upon departure 122.8 was selected, because of the usefulness of this frequency when inbound, for TA's. Notice was given of taxiing for takeoff and taking the active runway for departure. Upon liftoff another aircraft was observed on final. A left turn was made and the area was departed. The commercial approach plate showed 123.0 as the CTAF frequency. However, because 122.8 worked inbound, it was used outbound. The runway used for both takeoff and landing was that being used by other local traffic. The aircraft didn't come that close to each other actually, but there was a potential for it. 2 things are emphasized here. At an uncontrolled airport, see and avoid and following the general flow of traffic are probably best. Also, even though the charts indicate 123.0 for CTAF, it appears 122.8 is at least used by some if not most aircraft. Monitoring 122.8 at uncontrolled airports with other CTAF frequency may prove beneficial.

Title: FLC OF AN LTT CPR JET ACFT FAILED TO CONTACT AND RECEIVE UNICOM ON THE 'PUBLISHED' FREQ. HOWEVER, OTHER ACFT AND ARPT PERSONS WERE HEARD USING STANDARD FREQ AT A NON CTLED.

Narrative: ON ARR AT PINE BELT REGIONAL ARPT, UNICOM WAS CALLED AND ASKED TO ALERT PAX THAT ACFT WAS INBOUND FREQ WAS 123.0. NO TFC COMS WERE HEARD. 122.8 WAS SELECTED TO ADVISE LCL TFC. OTHER ACFT LNDG AND DEPARTING FROM FIELD WERE HEARD ON THIS FREQ (122.8). A LCL COMMUTER PLANE WAS TALKED TO FOR THEIR POS AND INTENTIONS. THE ARPT SECURITY OFFICER WAS ALSO HEARD ON 122.8 TALKING TO AN ACFT ON THE GND. UPON DEP 122.8 WAS SELECTED, BECAUSE OF THE USEFULNESS OF THIS FREQ WHEN INBOUND, FOR TA'S. NOTICE WAS GIVEN OF TAXIING FOR TKOF AND TAKING THE ACTIVE RWY FOR DEP. UPON LIFTOFF ANOTHER ACFT WAS OBSERVED ON FINAL. A L TURN WAS MADE AND THE AREA WAS DEPARTED. THE COMMERCIAL APCH PLATE SHOWED 123.0 AS THE CTAF FREQ. HOWEVER, BECAUSE 122.8 WORKED INBOUND, IT WAS USED OUTBOUND. THE RWY USED FOR BOTH TKOF AND LNDG WAS THAT BEING USED BY OTHER LCL TFC. THE ACFT DIDN'T COME THAT CLOSE TO EACH OTHER ACTUALLY, BUT THERE WAS A POTENTIAL FOR IT. 2 THINGS ARE EMPHASIZED HERE. AT AN UNCTLED ARPT, SEE AND AVOID AND FOLLOWING THE GENERAL FLOW OF TFC ARE PROBABLY BEST. ALSO, EVEN THOUGH THE CHARTS INDICATE 123.0 FOR CTAF, IT APPEARS 122.8 IS AT LEAST USED BY SOME IF NOT MOST ACFT. MONITORING 122.8 AT UNCTLED ARPTS WITH OTHER CTAF FREQ MAY PROVE BENEFICIAL.
