Narrative:

Flight wbound FL370 with approval. ATC instructed descent FL350 as per normal direction for, altitude, and change frequency. Frequency changed and PNF said flight XXX at FL370 with clearance FL350 and requested FL390. ATC called back 'standby' and went ahead with instructions for several other aircraft. ATC later returned with question 'what is your descent rate?' we responded 'waiting decision on FL390 and at FL370.' center said our clearance was to FL350, but now climb to FL390.

Narrative: FLT WBOUND FL370 WITH APPROVAL. ATC INSTRUCTED DSCNT FL350 AS PER NORMAL DIRECTION FOR, ALT, AND CHANGE FREQ.
