Narrative:

Failure to close VFR flight plan resulting in initiation of search. Usually file IFR but due to WX and traffic, elected to file VFR and get ATC advisories for flight, enabling more efficient direct route. Since I was to drop off 3 passenger at cgx and take 1 to pwk, I filed Y84-pwk with 1/2 hour stop at cgx. Upon arrival at cgx, I was aware of flight plan but since I was flying under part 135 passenger carrying could not close until I was on ground at pwk. Had to expedite passenger drop off at cgx due to curfew. By time I got on ground at pwk (10 min flight) flight plan had slipped my mind.

BY TIME I GOT ON GND AT PWK (10 MIN FLT) FLT PLAN HAD SLIPPED MY MIND.
