Narrative:

While departing runway 23 at gon, the tower controller issued a left turn to 090 degrees and climb to 3000 ft MSL after departure. After a normal takeoff we started our left turn, while climbing through 1000 ft MSL. My first officer started yelling at me to go down now! I started an immediate descent and looked out the right side cockpit window and saw a twin engine small transport, also starting evasive actions. The small transport was on a left downwind for runway 23, and was never reported to us.
