Narrative:
I was inbound to merrill field, anchorage, ak, and was handed off from arsa to mri tower approximately 7 mi from the field. I was told to report a VFR reporting point (polar twin) for a straight in to runway 33. I had just passed polar when a white small aircraft on floats flew directly underneath me about 15 ft.
