Narrative:
Fail to check and note runway 35R was required, possibly because of hurrying to start second engine while taxiing to assigned close runway 35L. A change in operating procedure may have been a contributing factor. We used to be verbally told when runway 35R was required rather than runway 35L. Now a computer generated information sheet is delivered to the aircraft with the desired runway and takeoff information. We used the sheet for weight and balance and V speeds but failed to note correct runway. To preclude this from happening to me again I have added airway check to an operating procedure and personal checklist I use prior to takeoff (in addition to required company checklist).
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: MLG DEPARTS WRONG RWY FOR WT.
Narrative: FAIL TO CHK AND NOTE RWY 35R WAS REQUIRED, POSSIBLY BECAUSE OF HURRYING TO START SECOND ENG WHILE TAXIING TO ASSIGNED CLOSE RWY 35L. A CHANGE IN OPERATING PROC MAY HAVE BEEN A CONTRIBUTING FACTOR. WE USED TO BE VERBALLY TOLD WHEN RWY 35R WAS REQUIRED RATHER THAN RWY 35L. NOW A COMPUTER GENERATED INFO SHEET IS DELIVERED TO THE ACFT WITH THE DESIRED RWY AND TKOF INFO. WE USED THE SHEET FOR WT AND BAL AND V SPDS BUT FAILED TO NOTE CORRECT RWY. TO PRECLUDE THIS FROM HAPPENING TO ME AGAIN I HAVE ADDED AIRWAY CHK TO AN OPERATING PROC AND PERSONAL CHKLIST I USE PRIOR TO TKOF (IN ADDITION TO REQUIRED COMPANY CHKLIST).
