Narrative:

First officer's side window rolled back (opened) during application of takeoff power. As per the operating manual, an abort was accomplished below 50 KTS. The runway was cleared, aircraft was taxied back for takeoff. The window was resecured, and an uneventful takeoff was accomplished. Although the lock lever was checked secured and the closed indicator displayed 'closed,' the rear lock(south) were apparently not seated properly. My approach plate book in the window plate holder can obscure the lower link arm position. The flight was a continuation with no crew change, however, the cockpit windows were cleaned during the crew's absence. Ground personnel apparently secured the window improperly. I suggest an advisory on this problem might be in order. Additionally, ground personnel should be made aware of the problem associated with large transport/widebody transport windows.

Title: THE FO'S SLIDING WINDOW CAME OPEN ON TKOF ROLL. THE CREW ABORTED THE TKOF WITH NO FURTHER PROB.

Narrative: FO'S SIDE WINDOW ROLLED BACK (OPENED) DURING APPLICATION OF TKOF PWR. AS PER THE OPERATING MANUAL, AN ABORT WAS ACCOMPLISHED BELOW 50 KTS. THE RWY WAS CLRED, ACFT WAS TAXIED BACK FOR TKOF. THE WINDOW WAS RESECURED, AND AN UNEVENTFUL TKOF WAS ACCOMPLISHED. ALTHOUGH THE LOCK LEVER WAS CHKED SECURED AND THE CLOSED INDICATOR DISPLAYED 'CLOSED,' THE REAR LOCK(S) WERE APPARENTLY NOT SEATED PROPERLY. MY APCH PLATE BOOK IN THE WINDOW PLATE HOLDER CAN OBSCURE THE LOWER LINK ARM POS. THE FLT WAS A CONTINUATION WITH NO CREW CHANGE, HOWEVER, THE COCKPIT WINDOWS WERE CLEANED DURING THE CREW'S ABSENCE. GND PERSONNEL APPARENTLY SECURED THE WINDOW IMPROPERLY. I SUGGEST AN ADVISORY ON THIS PROB MIGHT BE IN ORDER. ADDITIONALLY, GND PERSONNEL SHOULD BE MADE AWARE OF THE PROB ASSOCIATED WITH LGT/WDB WINDOWS.
