Narrative:

During takeoff roll at slc, air carrier large transport reached 90 KTS and the copilot's sliding window came open. The takeoff was aborted. Appropriate brake cooling was noted for time, gross, and speed. The aircraft was returned to the gate and appropriate maintenance write-ups were entered in the logbook. After inspection by maintenance, the window was found to 'operations check' ok and the flight was redispatched to ord. Note: the takeoff was performed with the pressurization packs off due to snow and slush on the runway. (A normal procedure for these conditions in order to not ingest slush into the pack cooling doors.) the fact that the aircraft was unpressurized for takeoff allowed the sliding window (if partially ajar) to open. The same aircraft and air crew performed a pressurized takeoff in boise to slc. The copilot preflted the window in boi, but possibly did not pull on it hard enough to check security to dislodge a partially ajar lock. No aircraft damage or personal injury occurred.

Title: THE FO'S SLIDING WINDOW OPENED ON TKOF ON AN ACR LGT.

Narrative: DURING TKOF ROLL AT SLC, ACR LGT REACHED 90 KTS AND THE COPLT'S SLIDING WINDOW CAME OPEN. THE TKOF WAS ABORTED. APPROPRIATE BRAKE COOLING WAS NOTED FOR TIME, GROSS, AND SPD. THE ACFT WAS RETURNED TO THE GATE AND APPROPRIATE MAINT WRITE-UPS WERE ENTERED IN THE LOGBOOK. AFTER INSPECTION BY MAINT, THE WINDOW WAS FOUND TO 'OPS CHK' OK AND THE FLT WAS REDISPATCHED TO ORD. NOTE: THE TKOF WAS PERFORMED WITH THE PRESSURIZATION PACKS OFF DUE TO SNOW AND SLUSH ON THE RWY. (A NORMAL PROC FOR THESE CONDITIONS IN ORDER TO NOT INGEST SLUSH INTO THE PACK COOLING DOORS.) THE FACT THAT THE ACFT WAS UNPRESSURIZED FOR TKOF ALLOWED THE SLIDING WINDOW (IF PARTIALLY AJAR) TO OPEN. THE SAME ACFT AND AIR CREW PERFORMED A PRESSURIZED TKOF IN BOISE TO SLC. THE COPLT PREFLTED THE WINDOW IN BOI, BUT POSSIBLY DID NOT PULL ON IT HARD ENOUGH TO CHK SECURITY TO DISLODGE A PARTIALLY AJAR LOCK. NO ACFT DAMAGE OR PERSONAL INJURY OCCURRED.
