Narrative:

Air carrier X on approach turning from 350 degrees to 060 degrees, descending from 7000 ft to 4000 ft, got TCASII TA followed shortly after by RA -- climb, climb. We started climb, looked at scope. Traffic was just showing level, 12 O'clock, about 1 1/2 mi or less. We climbed 699-700 ft, traffic went past. We notified approach control we had climbed and were not resuming descent. Controller said there was traffic at 6000 ft.

Narrative: ACR X ON APCH TURNING FROM 350 DEGS TO 060 DEGS, DSNDING FROM 7000 FT TO 4000 FT, GOT TCASII TA FOLLOWED SHORTLY AFTER BY RA -- CLB, CLB. WE STARTED CLB, LOOKED AT SCOPE. TFC WAS JUST SHOWING LEVEL, 12 O'CLOCK, ABOUT 1 1/2 MI OR LESS. WE CLBED 699-700 FT, TFC WENT PAST. WE NOTIFIED APCH CTL WE HAD CLBED AND WERE NOT RESUMING DSCNT. CTLR SAID THERE WAS TFC AT 6000 FT.
